ANX-510是基于叶酸的生物调节剂，具有潜在的抗肿瘤活性。5,10-亚甲基四氢叶酸（MTHF）稳定氟尿嘧啶代谢物5-5-氟-2'-脱氧尿苷-5'-O-单磷酸酯（FdUMP）与目标酶胸苷酸合酶的共价结合，从而抑制胸苷酸合酶，三磷酸胸苷的消耗（TTP），DNA的必要成分以及肿瘤细胞死亡。与亚叶酸钙不同，作为叶酸的活性形式的MTHF不需要代谢活化，并且可以提高氟尿嘧啶的化学治疗效果，且毒性较低。
