RI-1是抑制中央重组蛋白RAD51的小分子。RI-1在刺激单链退火的同时特别减少了人类细胞中的基因转化。RI-1与半胱氨酸319处的RAD51蛋白表面共价结合，这可能会使RAD51单体寡聚化成DNA上的细丝所用的界面不稳定。
